Rhinoplasty at Gentle Clinic is a sophisticated surgical procedure designed to reshape and enhance the appearance of your nose while maintaining or improving its function. Your rhinoplasty journey begins with a comprehensive consultation where our specialist will evaluate your facial structure, discuss your aesthetic goals, and create a personalized surgical plan. Prior to surgery, you'll receive detailed pre-operative instructions, including guidelines on medications to avoid, fasting requirements, and what to expect on the day of your procedure. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and typically takes 2-3 hours, depending on the complexity of your case. During the procedure, our surgeons use either an "open" approach (with a small incision on the columella, the tissue between your nostrils) or a "closed" approach (with all incisions inside the nostrils). Through these incisions, the surgeon carefully modifies the underlying bone and cartilage structure to achieve your desired shape. This may involve reducing a bump, narrowing the nasal bridge, refining the nasal tip, or altering the size and shape of the nostrils. Following surgery, a splint will be placed on your nose to protect it and maintain its new shape during initial healing. You may also have internal splints or soft packing inside your nose for the first week. Expect some swelling, bruising around the eyes, and mild discomfort, which we manage with prescribed medications. Recovery proceeds in stages: the initial recovery takes 1-2 weeks, during which you should rest with your head elevated, avoid strenuous activities, and follow specific care instructions for cleaning and managing discomfort. Most patients can return to work or school after 7-10 days, once the splint is removed and major swelling subsides. While you'll see an immediate change once the splint is removed, your nose will continue to refine over time. Moderate swelling may persist for 3-4 months, with subtle refinements continuing for up to a year as your nose settles into its final shape. Throughout this process, our team provides regular follow-up appointments to monitor your healing and address any concerns.
